The PDT 6842ex is a mobile, intrinsically safe Laser Radio Terminal for hazardous area (Zone 1, EEx i). This single-handed productivity tool has an integrated barcode scanner, a spacious 35 or 46 key alphanumeric keyboard, a 16 line display and an internally radio antenna.
The data, entered by the keyboard or read in by the barcode scanner is shown on the display. The display has a large backlit high-visability display.
The data entered is transmitted by the PDT 6842ex to a Radio Receiver Unit (Ethernet Access Point). The Ethernet Access Point is also available in a flameproof enclosure (Ex protection type: EEx d IIC T6). The Access Point transmits the received data via an Ethernet network to a host system. Immediately the data is available at the host system for further processing. This technology offers real-time data processing in hazardous areas, as required in recipe controlled production processes or in warehouse management systems. The radio technology Spectrum 24 of the PDT 6842ex is characterised by high immunity to electrical interference during data transfer.
The barcode reading systems of BARTEC work in the visible red light field and guarantee a reliable reading of barcode labels installed on round or uneven surfaces. Label quality is not affected during continous reading since data acquisition occurs touchless
